My mother in law and father in law took us to dinner last night.(poor Kayla got what i had and threw up twice last night during dinner) oh motherhood. This morning we went to Matt and grandma's and they got me a Starbucks gift card and a couple of cute picture frames, and grandma made me a birthday cake. Then Sam took me to go see new moon for the second time, got some clothes at kohls ,and had dinner at chili's. All in all it was a great birthday

How we spent our St Patrick's Day !

So as most of you know Sam got into a motorcycle accident on St. Patrick's day. I was at work and got a call from Sam who informed me he was in the back of the ambulance on his way to Loma Linda Hospital. He wrecked (our friend) Rob's bike. He was going about 75 mph and hit gravel. He went down and knocked himself out and slid for about 100 feet on the street, and came to rest with his shoulder folded up behind him.So total damage:
Ambulance ride 5000.00
broken clavicle 600.00
3 broken ribs 400.00
broken wrist in two places 1500.00
broken toes 500.00
road rash galore 60.00

Fortunately for his shoes, they popped off and rolled safely to the side of the road.Don't worry, they were unharmed. We were at the emergency room from 1:00 p.m. until 10:30p.m. Leave it to him.....

So on Tuesday Sam and I drove out to Temecula to pick up our new motorcycle. It's a 1996 Honda Shadow, real purdy. That same day we went to take the motorcycle permit test. Today I learned how to ride it. It is so much fun. Grandpa Matt and I went for a ride around Banning...

Well this Halloween was so much fun. The night before we went to Andy and Yolanda's and carved our pumpkins. Sam's was a picture of master chief halo and it was great but it could have also passed for a spider. On Hallowwen day we took Kayla to the trunk or treat at banning ward. Then later we went to Brady and Theresa's for a halloween party, they had the house fixed up real cool.(most of you were here for all of this so you already know.) We are so lucky to have such a great set of friends you guys are awesome, and thanks for all the fun.

A little update in our lives...Well we have moved into the lamplighter apartments just a couple doors down from Matt. It's so nice to be settled again, it's so hard starting all over. I have been working at Chili's in Beaumont now for about a month,and I really like it there. I also got my braces off. Kayla is getting so big she is cutting her third tooth and is starting to dance. When ever music comes on she starts shaking her head and body its so cute.Sam is doing good just working away. He is working with my brother still( playing with eels and sharks and stuff.) Here is one picture where he got stung by a sea urchin and a picture of some kind of eel, and my sweets Kay...

Well something thats pretty cool that has happened lately is Sam did the art for the cover of a book called Strife of the Lorin about a year and a half ago. Well the book got published and The author of it sent Sam a copy with a little thank you message in the back. I just thought it was kinda neat.

Well a couple things have changed in the last month or so. We have officially moved back to California which is great cause now were back around a majority of our family and friends. The hard part is starting all over again, but we think it's worth it. Now with the little munchkin she has cut her first two teeth(which was horrible I might add), started crawling, and saying DA DA all at about six months.

Well today was a fun day. We went down to our stake center and joined in the fun for pioneer day. It was really cool they had A fire truck blow water all over the park (field)all the kids and parents were running in it and playing, they also had all kinds of fun stuff to make and play with. Well two nights ago Kayla was sitting with her grandma and she started choking on her saliva and lost her breath for a couple second then about twenty minutes later did it again. So needless to say last night was a sleepless night for mom. Every time I heard her move or make noise I woke up. I figured she's been teething because she has been really fussy this last month and drooling a ton. This morning I made her a Dr. Appt. and found out that she has acid reflux, and she was choking on the acid coming back up in her throat. Poor thing this has been going on for about a month now and I just figured she was teething. I've never even heard of babies having acid reflux, but at least now we know and I have medicine for her now.

Well were back in Vegas for about four more weeks while Sam does his summer school job, and boy is it hot. Today it was about 114 degrees and at night it cools off to a whopping 104. It's never below 100 degrees here at night. Sure do miss those cool California nights. Today we took Kayla bowling for the first time, anything to stay inside the air conditioning. We went with my parents grandpa and grandma French. It was a fun and cool. Sure do miss everyone in California!

So it's been so much fun since we have been in California. We have been hanging out with Andy and Londa a lot lately. They have turned us onto a new family tradition. After church last Sunday we packed a lunch and headed out to the park. It was so much fun and the weather is so nice out here compared to Vegas. So Sunday's from here on out are our picnic days. Whats new with us... Sam's Birthday just passed and It was pretty cool, He got some game stop cards, movie cards and from my uncle Cliff and Me he got a Mossberg 500. He has been wanting one for a long time. I don't mind the gun it just makes me nervous with the little one around so it's always locked up. Anyways we went to my uncles had cake and ice cream and swam. Also just recently Dylan came out to Vegas to visit us so we took him to the Shark Reef, it's pretty cool. Thats about all with us just thought I would post some pics.

Well I haven't posted a comment in a while because we haven't been able to find our camera since we came back from California like three weeks ago. So whats new with us Sam went through backgrounds today for Las Vegas Metro up here and were still waiting to hear the results. He also got the results in the mail today for Riverside sheriff and he passed his written and takes his physical on the 6th of June. As for summer we are going down to California for the summer to stay with Sam's step dad Matt, so we don't have to commute for the riverside testing and of course to hang out with all the fam... Recently Sam and my uncle Cliff have been working on building a gazebo from scratch and I gotta say its not bad considering they carved the whole thing from one piece of wood. Any how the family is doing good. Kayla is getting big and learning real quick how to throw fits, and that little tart has already figured out how to get out of her car seat at almost four months. What she does is throws her feet to get her momentum going and slowly wiggles her way down to the bottom of the car seat then uses her weight to tip the bottom of it down and ends up in the floor, we watched her do it about three times. She is a character already. Well we can't wait to see everyone and hope everyone is doing well.

Well lets see sam recently applied for the metro police academy out here in Vegas and passed the written and the physical, and took his oral board. We are waiting to get the results for that . Then he just has to go through background. However we are going down to California within the next week or so because he wants to apply for riverside sheriffs down there too, we will see which ever one gets back to us first... Nothing else really new up here I found Kayla a couple bathing suits I think are just adorable and she can now fit in her first pair of shoes. Hope to see you guys soon....

Sam's old mission companion and his wife came up with their little girl like two weeks ago. Dylan bummed a ride and came up with them. Well this week we went down to California to have the kay blessed. It was a lot of fun and she was so cute , at the end of the blessing Sam held Kayla up so everyone could see her like the Simba on the Lion King. We had a lot of fun getting together with all our family and friends just like old times.

Well here is a little update with us. The first picture is obviously Kayla in her little outfit. The poor thing had an eye infection in her left eye since she was born so it was always swollen, but we got some ointment and now she's all better . Sam kept calling her pretty eye is stead of pretty eyes.

Here are a couple more of just the kay and sam just getting out of the bath and the other one is the way Kayla likes to be held by dad.

Now this one is Sam and shane in the hot tub at our apartments. The thing is shane was sick and not supposed to be swimming, but I guess thats what uncles are for !

Well here she is. I went in Thursday morning at 12:00 A.M, got induced by 1:30 and had her that morning at 9:02. I have to say the labor wasn't bad at all thanks to the epidural. She has the cutest dimples just like her ol dad.

Well it's the 11th of January and still no Kayla. Granted I'm not due till the 2oth but she could come a little early I wouldn't mind. I have been at the uncomfortable stage for a while now, but i know she will be worth it. Right now it's just the waiting game. We will keep everyone posted tho. I went to the Dr. yesterday and he said I'm dilated to a 2 and if she's not here by Wednesday he will try to induce me Wednesday night, but he also said maybe this Friday or Saturday and that changed so theres nothing definite.

Christmas was great

Well its the home stretch were in the last month of this pregnancy. Christmas was great we got the chance to go out to California and visit everyone and it was real nice. The Harrison Christmas party was a lot of fun, but I wasn't real thrilled with the way i came out in the Christmas picture , oh well . It was a lot of fun going and seeing everyone tho. As far as new year Dylan and sam's friend rob are coming up to help us celebrate the new year. Well thats about it we hope everyone has a great and safe new year we love you guys...

Well lets see whats been going on I am now almost 35 weeks its getting close and I am ready. I cant wait to see what she is going to look like. Today A bunch of the girls from my work threw me a baby shower and got us all kinds of stuff , including the pink bib that Sam put on the registry that says I AM NOT A BOY ( its cute). Also I should let the family know that Sam has decided he is going to start baking. He thought someone should in this family. Well the other day I was helping him make homemade fudge and of course once the chocolate got to its hottest boiling point I accidentally dripped it on his hand, needless to say I'm not allowed to help anymore.. We want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and We miss you guys. Love you guys .

We just hit our one year mark, so its officially too late for an annulment. Jim and Cindy were nice enough to take us out to claim jumpers for dinner on our one year anniversary. Other than that it's the same old same old. To those of you who are coming to the baby shower were sorry its so far out there, and thanks for still coming. Being out in Vegas it was a little hard to plan in California.

Hey family,
Hope everyone is doing good. This week has been going pretty good so far. These pictures are from the UNLV and the BYU football game we went to last Saturday. It was a lot of fun except this guy that was sitting in front of us was drunk and throughout the whole game he was making rude comments about Mormons and BYU school and just being stupid, so we ended up leaving at half time. This weekend we are going to make a little trip out to California to visit everyone, and were so excited to see Brady and Theresa's baby girl (Lilly).

Getting Started...

Hello to all the fam ! Well we finally got this blog started. Here is a little update. Sam and I moved out to Las Vegas Nevada about three months ago, and as you can see Sam's already making tons of friends...I (Melissa) am doing well also hitting the six month mark just recently. Pregnancy is grand! We found out about a month ago that we're having a little girl, were gonna name her Kayla Rene Gardner, we are anxiously awaiting her arrival. She's due January 21, 2007. Sam is hoping she comes a little early, so she can be daddy's little tax deduction..

Also as of Sept. 25 Sam has finally got
his Halo 3 game for his x box 360. This was a
proud moment for Sam he has been awaiting this day for over a year now, and is currently waiting for Andy to get on board, so they can be brothers again.
